1. Sante Kimes

We’ve all heard about criminals who were together and somehow discovered that their love language was traveling around the country and doing all sorts of atrocities (like Bonnie and Clyde, but we’ll talk about them later), but have you ever heard about a mother and son doing bad things together?

That’s surely one way to bond with your kid, although we’re fans of the traditional ways. Speaking of that, this was the exact case of Sante Kimes, a woman who was a popular crook and who was also convicted of 2 murders, forgery, and acting contrary to laws prohibiting slavery.

This woman used to commit insurance scams by burning down properties and then collecting the insurance funds. This crook was also guilty of being a slave trader, as she gave shelter and a job to young illegal immigrants in exchange for their labor without paying them.

According to officials, many of the crimes she committed were made possible with the help of her son, Kenny Kimes. When the police caught them and took them to trial, her son testified against his mother and shared every tiny detail about some of the deaths they committed.

The only reason he pleaded guilty and said those things was because he wanted to save his mother from being given the death penalty. A few years later, in 2014, Santee Kimes died at the age of 79, while she was still a prisoner.
