The first quickdraw gunfight took place in Springfield, Missouri
This famous fight was between “Wild” Bill Hickok, and another man called Davis Tutt. The two men were arguing over a money dispute over their own gambling winnings, to be more precise. Tutt made a deal with other gamblers, so he can clean Hickock out and run him out of town.
However, Hickok won, and Tutt decided to ask Hickok for $40 over a previous deal. It seems that Hickcok paid the money, but Tutt asked for more, and when the other gunfighter didn’t budge, Tutt stole Hickock’s pocket watch from the table.
The next day, Tutt bragged about his new acquisition, but Hickok advised him not to wander across the square of Springfield, Missouri, with that watch. But who do you think listened to him? Well, Hickok met Tutt in the square, and he reached for his gun, but Tutt also reached for his. The two of them instantly paused and then drew, and Hickok was the one to finish the fight and kill Tutt.
