The stage plays were awful

Even if thrilling gunplay and dramatic recreations of some of the most famous stories were probably fun to watch, the indoor stage plays that Cody made were…awful. Funnily, it was a good awful, like a song that’s so bad that it becomes good.

As you can imagine, Cody and his colleagues weren’t exactly thespians, and they also didn’t have anyone to write for them. The stage plays would usually involve Cody and others, such as Hickok, sitting around a fire, telling stories, or cracking jokes.

The audience laughed, but for all the wrong reasons: they were simply THAT BAD. Just so you can get the full picture: one night, Hickok was so angry (or drunk), that he whipped out his pistol and blasted out a stage light in front of everybody.
