2. Caril Ann Fugate and Charles Starkweather
Caril Ann Fugate was a 14-year-old teenager who lived with her mother, sister, and stepfather in Lincoln, Nebraska, but suddenly, her life changed for good. She met 19-year-old Charles Starkweather through her sister, who was dating the boy’s friend at the time.
The teenagers fell in love and went on a murder spree in the late 1950s. Believe it or not, the first crime they committed was against Fugate’s family. On January 21st, 1958, the boy went to his girlfriend’s home and shot and killed her parents, then hit her sister and stabbed her in the neck.
Caril Ann said that one day when she came home, she found her lover there all alone, waiting for her while holding a gun. She claimed that Starkweather told her that her family was being held hostage and that the only way she could save them was to come with him and do exactly as he said.
