A major conflict in US history was obviously the Civil War, which is by far the most dreadful chapter in the nation’s story that shaped our country as we know it in the present. But how much does everybody know about this event? We obviously discussed it in class, and even if you weren’t a particularly active student, you must know a little about it anyway.

Besides Abraham Lincoln or General Ulysses S. Grant, there are still plenty of other important figures that are worth mentioning. However, there are probably some weird facts about the Civil War that nobody told us about. Keep on reading to learn about some that might surprise you.

  1. You should send this part of the article to the part of The Republican Party that are trying to take voting rights and other freedoms away from people. ( Especially Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump).

  2. I’m surprised that there is no constitutional amendment providing for how any state can leave the United States or stating secession can’t be done.

  5. Our Congress people today need to read this and review our history. Especially about where we sll came from throughout the world, equal protection and the right fo vote. Certain ones come to mind more than others but all need a refresher.
