B-2 stealth bomber crash

Airplanes, as we all know, are extremely expensive, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the B-2 Stealth Bomber that crashed into the Andersen Air Force Base in Guam was worth a ton of money. Luckily, the two crew members that were there managed to eject safely, but the jet had $1.4 billion in damages. It was by far the most expensive airplane crash in history.

The Navantia Submarine That Can’t Resurface

In 2013, the Spanish government paid the company Navantia to make a new, expensive, state-of-the-art Isaac Peral submarine. But the design of the submarine made it way too heavy. The sinking part of this project didn’t represent an issue; the resurfacing part proved to be troublesome.

Luckily, the design didn’t make it to the manufacturing stage, but things didn’t stop there. The engineers fixed the issue, but the whole thing was way bigger than that, as the people totally forgot to measure the port, which no longer fit inside after the submarine’s dimensions increased. The whole issue cost the Spanish government no less than $2.2 billion.
