6. Susan Atkins
Susan was one of the most gruesome female assassins on our list and a valuable member of the Charles Manson group. She entered the “family” in 1967 after a couple of brief meetings with them. Atkins was one of the Masons’ favorites because she was a good rule-follower, which is why he chose her to burst into the house of Roman Polanski and murder all the people who were in the mansion at that very moment.
After a long trial, she and her “family” members, together with Charles Manson, were found guilty of murder and sentenced to the death penalty. Among the women now detained in the state’s prisons, she had served the longest.
In 2008, she was diagnosed with cancer, and soon after this, she died.
