#5 Kennedy Was A Huge James Bond Admirer
When JFK was in the hospital recovering from spinal surgery in 1954, a friend brought him “Casino Royale,” the first book featuring the James Bond character, written by former British agent Ian Fleming. Kennedy developed a profound appreciation for the character and felt a strong connection to him.
During the 1960 presidential campaign, Kennedy invited Ian Fleming to his home. In 1961, when asked about his three favorite books, Kennedy included “From Russia With Love” among them.
Also, the second James Bond film, eponymous to his favorite Bond book, “From Russia With Love,” was the very last movie that John F. Kennedy had ever seen.
