1. Sophia Loren

Sofia Costanza Brigida Villani Scicolone, known as Sophia Lauren to the whole world, is a gorgeous Italian actress, very popular for her roles in “Two Women” and in “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow”. In 1951, she started a successful career in movies, and people quickly thought she was one of the most beautiful females in the world.

Many of her fans say that she has something special about her physical features, such as her Mediterranean look and her Italian glamour. Well, she is still really pretty, which makes everyone crazy about her. Her beautiful features weren’t the only ones that made her very appreciated. Her talent made her win the Best Actress Academy Award for the film “Two Women” in 1961, and in 1991, Loren received the Academy Honorary Award.

Even though she is now mature, the star is still booked by impressive brands, such as Dolce & Gabbana, who collaborated with the Hollywood celeb for a TV spot for one of their perfumes, Dolce Rose.

    1. Reading through a number of the responses, I can’t help but agree with most of them, and, yes, there were a few clinkers in the article as well as in the responses. The thing is: I can think of a dozen porn stars who would put most of these favorites to shame, especially if shown head to toe (sans duds). Maybe we are just talking about the prettiest face? Psychologists have analyzed perception of beauty and I’m not sure how many favorites would measure up to their idea of perfect looks, but there’s a lot more to beauty than perfect looks. I agree, Kim Novak should be on the list, along with a few hundred other knowns and unknowns.

      1. I agree. Grace Kelly in Alfred Hitchcock’s “To Catch a Thief” is the most beautiful woman in film hidtory

  1. I did not see mention of two whom I thought should have been mentioned. They are Loretta Young and Raquel Welch. Why not?

      1. Raquel Welch lived in the Bay Park area my old neighborhood and went to the same grammer school as I did but it was a few years after my family had moved to Grants Pass Oregon I did not know her as she was much younger then me but she was a Beauty no question about it she went to the same high school as I would have gone to if we had not moved to Grants Pass Oregon That was La Jolla High School . Bill Krumholz .

    1. Not one actress of Color?
Also, Elizabeth Taylor was hands down the most beautiful human to ever grace this sweet Earth.

    2. I have an older hollywood book of stars that is all studio portraits and there is one of a very beautiful Loretta Young at 16 I believe and she was already very beautiful. I think it’s a shame what exploitation happeneds and may still be happening to these young actresses before they are even of age.

      1. Perhaps you are not beautiful or handsome as she was.
I met her, she’s absolutely stunning.
        She’s sinced passed

    1. Meryl Streep is a Skag. She shouldn’t be in the top million as she is not pretty at all. . Rachel Welch should be in her place.

    1. Actress Hedy Lamar was by far the most beautiful of all. She was also a inventor and an American spy during World War 2.

    1. Angie was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world. She was a beauty when she was young. My favorite also.

    1. Absolutely agree with you. Growing up in the 60s I loved watching Doris Day, excellent actress, funny and can sing! What’s not to like?

  2. Meryl Streep???? Really???

    at least the title was

” 10 Rare Photos of the Most Beautiful Actresses When They Were Young”

    and not

‘ The 10 Most Beautiful Actresses Ever’ …….

and so glad that Rene Zellweger and Sara Jessica Parker were left off the list, inclusion of those two would have made this list laughable

  3. Norma Jeane (you left off the “e”) was, indeed, very intelligent. She studied Method Acting, and surprised a lot of people with her intelligence. They all thought the character she was cast the most as (the dumb blonde) was how she really was! She was also reported to have a good memory, important when you have to memorize a 100 page script. I was like Elton John – the kid in the 42nd row.

    1. I totally agree with you on Susan Hayward. She had that rare, true beauty and could play any part they threw at her. Actresses like her are not to be these days. That mold was long ago broken. Sad…The new wave females that call themselves actresses just have no clue….Ms Hayward had it all!
Now off to rewatch “I’ll Cry Tomorrow” for the umpteenth time! Thanks for the post….now I know what old movies I’ll be watching in the next few days!

    1. *”Emma Peel” was absolutely sexy. I thought so even before I knew what sexy was! As a youngster I never missed her in “The Avengers” on TV. HOT!!! 🔥

  4. She has always been beautiful and classy even into her 70’s. On top of that she has a sense of humor and not afraid to let her guard down.

  5. Where are Brigitte Bardot and Claudia Cardinalle? There are three iconic European actresses: Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and Claudia Cardinalle.
Bardot and Cardinalle didn’t play in american movies, so they don’t count as world actresses? For Americans the world starts and ends on America, nothing else counts. We have no idea how much we are losing because of this small town attitude.

    1. I agree!! Bardot is a legend and an icon!!Unique and a prototype for the Blondes that came after her in the 60’s and 70’s and beyond!!

    2. I totally agree, erin, especially Claudia C. Just recall the scene from “Once upon a time in the West” where she unpacks the train and Charles Bronson appears!

  6. Diahann Carroll, Dorothy Dandridge, Hailey Berry, Angela Bassett, Raquel Welch, etc. I am sure that Ms. Dandridge would fit in the age range as most of the women listed. Of course, most of the other ladies would fit in with Ms. Streep.

    1. Dorothy Dandridge, definitely! She was my first “favorite actress”, with my scrapbook of her to prove it. It was a terrible loss for Hollywood, the American people, and my impressionable childhood self to lose her at such a young age.

    2. Impressive list however you forgot one beautiful lady from yesteryear who BTW is my favorite…..Lena Horne!!! She also had a great singing voice that could belt out “Stormy Weather” with the BEST of them!!!👍🏽

      1. I couldn’t agree more. The caption didn’t say the “ONLY” beautiful women. Also included was statement that said to include those you thought should be included. Race isn’t always a factor!!!

    1. Halle Berry was mentioned. Whom else would you choose for black ladies? Nobody comes to mind. Meryl Streep choice surprised me. She was a wonderful actress and a sexy lady, but not a beauty. Hepburn was lovely, but not a stunner like Bardo, Cardinale, Lollobrigida. My personal favorite was and remains Rosemarie Magdalena Albach, known professionally as Romy Schneider, Germany. A few actresses from my younger days in Moscow, USSR, come to mind, but nobody would know them in civilized world.

  7. Halle Berry, not on the list.
    More beautiful now, than ever…

    Vanessa Williams … duh

    Diahann Carroll, come on folks….

    Selma Hayek…

  8. These ladies are all beauties, but my favorite is Ingrid Bergman. Not a fabulous “looker” but a quiet beauty. Wonderful actress! Anastasia my favorite movie. I always cry!

    1. I haven’t seen her movies except one with a very young Cary Grant, “She Done Him Wrong.” She is so beautiful when he proposes.

    1. I’ve enjoyed several of Ava Gardner’s movies — “Seven Days in May,” “Night of the Iguana,” “On the Beach,” “Pandora and the Flying Dutchman” — all are on my list of favorite movies. Also liked Deborah Kerr in “Night of the Iguana.”

  9. Elizabeth Taylor is the perfect beauty, bar none! Who is. Monica B.? Meryl Steep is a great actress, but certainly not beautiful….her nose doesn’t line up with her mouth and her hands and her hands look like she is a farm worker. Many actresses are more beautiful than Olivia Newton John….she is cute, not beautiful. Who decided these top ten most beautiful?

    1. Olivia NewtonJohn? Meryl Streep?
Seriously??? Check out all the other beauties all of us came up with!

      1. I agree. A patriot as well. Her story reminds me of “Hidden Figures” about women mathematicians who were overlooked by history until later.

    1. Both Hedy Lamar AND Loretta young were very beautiful AND talented actresses.
And I have the paper dolls to prove it!
😆😆😆 (there was a Betty Grable too)

  10. I always loved Audrey Hepburn. She was stunning and a classic. I liked her role in the movie who father is a butler and she lives on top of the garage. Falls in love. I can’t think the name of that movie. I seem it many time.

  11. I think you had a great list. I would only add Delores Del Rio – another stunner from a bygone era.

  12. I have a hunch there’s nary a dud in the Bond [good or bad] Girl bunch. That includes Sophie Marceau, doncha know, every Mon with ayes wide open, would List as a momma ‘scent’ from heaven.

  13. Liz Taylor is my favorite. She had personality plus beauty.
I Always thought the eldest girl on “Last Man Standing” (the original girl) looked like a young Elizabeth Taylor.

  14. Classic, there will never be stars like that again. Now days your a star for a minute then fizzle out fast.

  15. All these women were indeed the most beautiful to someone. However, have you considered lasting beauty? Marilyn Monroe’s beauty was preserved by her passing. Of those living, I was amazed to see Jane Seymour still looking good and perhaps Ann Blythe in her later years.

    1. Jane Seymour — yes! When I saw her in that Bond movie with the outfit for telling fortunes, I thought she was the most beautiful person I’d ever seen.

  16. Yes Vivien Leigh & Audrey Hepburn were our most lovable & admired Actresses for their talent & Beauty! Thanks so to post this nice article. But what is about Kim Novak, Natalie Wood, Brigitte Bardot, We did not think Strep is in the list of the most beauty Females in Hollywood or Film industry!

    1. Pretty, but not beautiful. …..and what does it matter anyway? Sometimes beauty can work against one. Beautiful women are often targets of envy and lust and if not protected can suffer greatly.

  17. they all were beautiful women and deserve everything that was gave to them as we all enjoy the flash back….. thank you for sharing

  18. How can you leave out Raquel? And Kim Novak, Julie Christie, Jean Harlow, Kim Basinger, Katherine Ross, Ann-Margaret, Grace Kelly, and Rita Hayworth?

  19. On the subject of these pictured ladies being beautiful..all these ladies were/are/ always will be beautiful

  20. This list totally missed. Needed Gene Tierney, Greer Garson, Grace Kelly, Linda Darnell, Angela Bassett.

  21. Where is Jean Tierney or Ingrid Bergman? Both were absolutely stunning and
terrific actresses. Vanessa Williams and Angela Bassett belong in the group as well!!

  22. Sophia Loren, IMHO, was and is the most beautiful woman to ever grace a Hollywood camera. Yes, Grace Kelly, or Gina Lollabrigida, are right next to Sophia in beauty, but she’s #1

  23. Olivia and Norma Jean are not only beautiful on the outside. Both ladies have that special something that shines from their hearts. That is what attracted me to them.

  24. Yes. I agreed She is beautiful as young woman too. but you miss Linda Darnell she was listed one
of 10 Beautiful woman’s in that time.

  25. Why don’t you just say “the 10 most beautiful WHITE WOMEN actresses when they were young”?? Oh….yes….of course non-white actresses don’t/didn’t meet your (racist?!?!) “standards” for the definition of “beautiful”. PULLEEASSEE!!!

    1. I posted a brief comment earlier tonight on my favorite most beautiful female entertainer….Lena Horne!!🤗 In my youth there was a “toss up” between Lena Horne and Sofia Loren….hands down was/still is and ALWAYS will be Lena👍🏽

  26. I think you really missed the mark on this one! You said “beautiful”…
Where is Natalie Wood? Veronica Lake?
Several more I think would beat out two of your choices and more!
I hate these “polls” as they never quite work that well.

  27. I also agree that Natalie Wood should be on this list. And if you actually took a Rank Choice poll of the Top 30 most beautiful actresses, somebody like Audrey Hepburn wouldn’t be in the top five, but she might be somewhere around 23rd or so.

  28. Monica Bellucci is my pick for No. 1 from those presented. Raquel Welch, Natalie Wood, Loretta Young, Angie Dickinson and a host of others should be in an expanded “Most Beautiful Actresses When They Were Young”.

    1. I agree, Meryl Streep is attractive but not beautiful. It is ridiculous to list ten, there countless beautiful women and not all of them are actresses or celebrities.

  29. My favorite would have to be Audrey Hepburn. Her face was just perfect and I loved her accent. The choice was hard because I really like more of them. But this is my choice!

  30. So many beautiful ladies, don’t forget Farrah. Pin up of the Viet Nam police action (war).

  31. Susan Haywards beauty was mesmerizing to me when I watched her movies in the early 60’s as a teenager. I thought and still think she was the most beautiful woman to Grace this Earth. She was just utterly stunning I thought.

  32. My top choices…has to be Vivien Leigh #1 as she looked like my late wife Marcia, and then Hedy Lamarr #2. And yet all beautiful women.

  33. we know the deep (stupid) STATE in Amerika, killed Norma Jean. The same deep (stupid) STATE murdered JFK, Then a foul mouthed Texan gave us an anti-White oligarchy and the unGRATEful SOCIETY. $23 trillion wasted, not one poster child has been made equal yet. He also killed 58 000 young men in Viet Nam. The demon-rat, idiot is still suffering in hell.

  34. Imo, Brigitte Bardot and Jennifer Connelly should have been included. Nothing personal against Meryl Streep, but she doesn’t belong anywhere near a “10 Most Beautiful” list.

  35. I’m sorry that you didn’t include Raquel Welch in your list. She was the most beautiful woman that I’ve seen, bar none.

  36. There were several not just these listed. Audrey Hepburn was a natural beauty. Joan Crawford, Jayne Mansfield, Ava Gardner, Grace Kelly, Lucille Ball, and on and on and on.

  37. How do you put Meryl Streep over Ava Gardner? And how did you miss Lena Hoirne – a beauty even into her latter years?

  38. I must say, Sophia Lauren is my favorite actress of all time. When I was a little girl I use to run to the TV when I knew she was coming on. As a little girl I had promise myself when I grow up I was going to name my daughter after her and I did. I am now 65 years old and to this day she is still my favorite female actress. I love her 🙂

  39. I have always loved Marilyn . Her intelligence and beauty have kept us intrigued for 62 years , in the end I feel she had no personal happiness. But what a beautiful woman ❤️

  40. Not a single black woman. Are you people nuts?

Lena Horne, Vanessa Williams, Leslie Uggams, etc.

    Come on, now!!

  41. I am glad you included the most beautiful (and smart) woman of all, Hedy Lamar. However, you left out a favorite of mine, Gene Tierney. She was surely more beautiful than many actresses on your list.

  42. then there are Diana Dors ,Jayne Mansfield,Ginger Rodgers , Loretta Young, Julia Roberts,Juliet Prowse,Gina Lolobrigida but my ultimate favourite was Sofia Loren was and still is those eyes of hers were gorgeous

  43. As a Baby Boomer, I know about these pretty ladies from Hollywood and the TV screen. For example, I loved watching Audrey Hepburn portray Eliza Doolittle in “My Fair Lady,” even if her voice was dubbed by Julie Andrews singling her songs. I loved watching Vivien Leigh in “Gone with the Wind,” and Elizabeth Taylor in some of her movies.
All that said, why no mention of other famous actresses such as Doris Day, Racquel Welch, Jane Fonda, Joan Crawford, Lauren Bacall, Rita Hayworth, Debbie Reynolds, Bette Davis, Lucille Ball, and others? Doris Day was famous not only as a model and singer but also for her show, “The Doris Day Show” and as person who cared about saving pets from abusive owners. Debbie Reynolds was famous as an actress who appeared in “Singing in the Rain” with Gene Kelly. Then there’s Natalie Wood, famous for appearing in the movie version of “West Side Story” as Maria.

One thing about Hedy Lamarr that the author may have missed was that she worked for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), which preceded today’s modern Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). One of Audrey Hepburn’s final roles before she passed away was as Elizabeth Roffe in Sidney Sheldon’s “Bloodline,” the movie based on Sheldon’s book of the same name. Ms. Hepburn also served as the UN’s Chidren’s Ambassador, preceding Angelina Jolie’s appointment by more than a decade.

  44. So many of my favorites – Loren, Monroe, and Hayward. Left off several iconic beauties, imo – Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman, and Marlene Dietrich, to name a few. Nice trip down memory lane.

  45. SUSAN HAYWARD! One of my favorites. Yes she was beautiful and her walk! And her husky voice. “I want to LIve” one of my favorite movies. There were 2 or 3 women that I didn’t believe belonged on your list.

  46. I disagree with at least three of these ladies being on the list.
IMO they left out, Natalie Wood which should be in the top 5.

  47. I think Elizabeth Taylor is the most beautiful woman of all time. Taylor was very smart & knew how to make herself look perfect in the movie roles she played. Taylor also has the most popular selling perfume, White Diamonds, which has remained the number one selling perfume after Taylor’s death. I think Ava Gardner should be on your list, along with Lauren Bacall as they had a beauty style of their own.

  48. I agree! Beautiful women are eternal. They come from every century and generation in various cultures, colors, and races and are born daily. If you doubt this, open your eyes and look around you. Nature controls their emergence and distribution. Critics have little control over the phenomenon.

  49. She is not the most gorgeous woman ever born, but she is definitely the warmest woman on screen. I love her looks and her acting. She is great at her roles.

  50. I think they forget about Gia Scala. Unjustly forgotten because her career went into decline before her time when she had strong differences with the director of the film “The Guns of Navarone” where she gave an impressive performance that should have boosted her career a lot and well (whoever saw it, reminds them more of her than of Gregory Peck, Anthony Quinn, Irene Papas, David Niven or any other notable actor who appears there) and it didn’t happen. Apparently they blocked her career in Hollywood.

  51. You must be blind. How does Meryl Strep fit on this list? Elizabeth Montgomery should be in the number one spot.

  52. Lucille Ball was also among the most beautiful actresses of her time. Talanted, smart and business minded.

  53. Grace Kelly, Frances Farmer, Glynnis Johns, Vanessa Redgrave, Michelle Yeoh, Juliette Binoche, Dominique Sanda, Catherine DeNeuve, Jeanne Moreau, Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner, Lana Turner, Danielle Darrieux, Katherine Hepburn, Jaclyn Smith. Angelina Jolie, Susan Heyward, Olivia deHavilland, Ali McGraw, Halle Berry, Melina Mercouri, Lauren Bacall, Rae Dawn Chong, Angela Basset, Angie Dickenson, Lisa Bonet, Ziyi Zhang,

There’s basically two types of beauty when considering women in Hollywood – 1. Physical attractiveness (some would say perfection) 2. The beauty of deep integrity/character/power

  54. ONJ is my fave I loved her musical talents, especially her voice, she made Sandy in Greese without her in that role the movie might have totally flopped.

My second fave is likely most people’s first choice, Norma Jean became the immortal Marilyn Monroe. I can’t believe she was last on your list, but I guess you were in your minds saving best for last.

I don’t know most of the rest except Sharron Tate and really only know her because of how she died, killed by Manson’s clan.

  55. I agree with including Meryl Streep. She is one of very few modern actresses that can act, sing & dance. Not like previous generations but good enough! Her acting chops are terrific if unexpected; like Cher who is not on this list but should be!

  56. You could have added Maureen O’Hara, Debbie Reynolds, Natalie Wood, Joan Collins just to name a few.

  57. I know everyone has an opinion, but for my money, I think Jaclyn Smith was most beautiful woman I ever saw Today it would be J Lo god she’s gorgeous

  58. I liked Sophia Loren when she was in “Boy on a Dolphin” and my family saw it at the drive-in. Elizabeth Taylor was never more beautiful than in “Father of the Bride” and “Ivanhoe.”

  59. Ingrid Bergman, I recall watching a movie with her in it in High School. I was impressed with how beautiful she was.

  60. Jane Fonda, Ann Margaret, Bette Davis….theres so many stunning women from the 20’s-60’s! I love Meryl Streep but she didn’t belong in this era of women.

  61. Meryl Streep? She is not nearly as beautiful as Brigette Bardeaux, Gina Lollobrigida, Kim Novak, Grace Kelly? Not to mention Diahanne Carroll and Eartha Kitt. So many to name, but far and above Meryl and Olivia. Olivia was scrubbed cute. She was pretty, but comparatively speaking…

  62. Great choices, but don’t forget Gina Lola Bridget! Now that’s a real beauty! The Italian actress and icon of the 1950s and 1960s.

  63. out of the 10 listed i loved elizabeth taylor. what about dawn wells, ann-margret, raquel welch, connie stevens?

  64. the gov’t. of Amerika was getting VERY corrupt. She was one of the first victims of the deep STATE. We were warned about the MIC by Eisenhower

  65. Too bad the Elizabeth Taylor pic isn’t in color to capture the hue of those eyes.

What is Olivia Newton-John doing i thisbatch of images. Hardly an actress, and plain looks.

The Vivien Leigh pic is not flattering.

    Great pic of Marilyn.

  66. Kim Basinger Brooke Shields Ashley Judd
Demi Moore Cheryl Ladd Penelope Cruz
Farrah Fawcett Kate Winslet Jessica Alba
Ava Gardener Jaclyn Smith Jennifer Lopez
Natalie Wood Selma Hayek Raquel Welch
Julia Roberts Charlize Thurman Heather Locklear Pamela Anderson
    Sandra Bullock Kristin Davis
Betty Davis Grace Kelly Reese Witherspoon

  67. some had natural beauty when they were young and into their mature years, rachael welch, elizabeth taylor. others grew into being beautiful, audrey hepburn, marilyn monroe, sophia loren, while others that were mentioned here, i would not consider beautiful but like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!!

  68. Many years ago I was just a few feet away from Elizabeth Taylor when she was on vacation (no makeup) and a teenager. She really was extraordinarily beautiful. She was walking around a town where I lived at the time.

  69. Elizabeth Taylor has always been my idol since I was a little girl & now I’m 84!! She was such a stunning beauty & good actress. However, Meryl Streep is my favorite actress as every movie I’ve seen with her it is great & she acts so well I actually believe she is the person she is portraying.

  70. I had a boyhood crush for her since I can remember, I met her in person when she was the
    Grand Marshall for the
    Columbus day parade in NYC.
She is more beautiful and classy in person.

  71. A few of the shown women are marginally beautiful. Of all the women in the world, there are many stunningly beautiful girls, but they will never be seen because they will never be shown. They are not the Hollywood kind, but Hollywood can make most women a good looker despite their talent.
Then again, I’m sure most people will agree that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. ’nuff said.

  72. Audrey Hepburn, Meryl Streep? What about Rita Hayworth, Gene Tierney, Linda Darnell, Ava Gardner, Kim Novak, Raquel Welch

  73. They are/were all very beautiful. Elizabeth Taylor, my favorite and Vivian Leigh, a very close second.

  74. I wish you had considered Kim Novak a beautiful lady in the Hollywood cinema, also Jessica Lange. Wonderful beauty and talented actress.

  75. Ya know Harris lost And didn’t complain about a thing didn’t say this must be stolen didn’t bellyache about anything just leave her alone she took her Lost graciously, not like it as a bonehead if you guys just elected

  76. True, they are all beautiful, but to say they are the 10 most beautiful is a stretch. The comments I read suggested others who should be included. Perhaps a list of the 50 most beautiful, and that may not be enough.

  77. I agree with most on this list but, one noticeable omission is Natalie Wood. To me, she is one of the top two or three most beautiful women to ever live!

  78. She is undoubtedly the most beautiful woman with acting chops (2 Oscars) that ever graced the history of motion pictures. Her beauty and talent were only matched with her strength to stand up to the most powerful men in Hollywood and her compassionate nature to use her celebrity to shed light and raise money to fight the horrific epidemic of AIDS. She will not only go down as the most influential actor (male and female) that came out of Hollywood, which is a legacy alone, but her beauty on the screen was undeniable. She is the whole package. She is number 1 for all stated above.

  80. Vivien Leigh should rate number 2 as the most beautiful actress in Hollywood. Her beauty and stage presence in GWTW captivates all who watch the 3 hours plus journey of Scarlett O”Hara. In my opinion, her performance is single best performance by any single actor or actress in motion picture history. Her movie career was short due WWII, her work in theater, and mental illness and yet, she still won 2 Oscars. However, there is no dispute about her beauty and talent. If you question, her range watch her performance in GWTW as the strong willed and determined Scarlett and then watch the next year, Waterloo Bridge where she plays, Myra, a vulnerable and pessimistic soul. She nails the role. Her range was incredible. Therefore, in addition to her beauty, lay an actress that mastered the most demanding role in motion picture history.

  81. Dont know WHO made that list but they sure did miss quite a few But they sure dont have any of those kind with that class any more Hollywood does not even produce and great movies these days

    1. Exactly. The Hollywood actress of yesteryear didn’t have to stipe off their clothing to be sexy. Their allure was the mystery they exuded while fully clothed.

  82. Beauty is in the of the beholder. No one mentioned “Lassie”. She was a beautiful example of dogdom, didn’t have temper tantrums on set, and followed orders. During her heyday, there wasn’t one movie fan who didn’t love her. She was a dogged devotee of her own acting style which was result of her devotion to the Silver Screen. Talk about beauty-she was in a class by herself.

  83. How could Ava Gardner not be on this list, and not at the top? Absolutely the most gorgeous- natural beauty- actress in Hollywood history….

  84. How can we choose from just 10 photos of beauties in their younger years when there are so many? If you want to actually own hundreds of real never-before-seen photographs and short biographies about the many celebrities and other theatrical aspirants that 20th Century publicity photographer, Murray Korman, took during his long and successful career buy the book Vintage Babes of Broadway: Through the 20th Century Lens of Murray Korman by Clyde Adams et al which is available in paperback or hard copy on Amazon. For three decades, Murray Korman was the most popular and prolific publicity photographer in New York City and during that time, Korman photographed many beautiful, well-known, and beloved celebrities like Anne Bancroft, Betty Grable, Loretta Young, Eva Gabor, Ann Miller, Julie Newmar, Fanny Brice, and many others. The book makes a fabulous coffee table conversation piece.

  85. Absolutely not in my opinion although they are all beauties in their own right. However these would not be my own picks and I am a man of exquisite taste when it comes to beautiful women. I would say some of your picks are not even close to being the most beautiful actresses that currently exist or that have existed! I would say Loretta Young, Hedy Lamar, Myrna Loy, Angelina Jolie, Natalie Wood, Bridget Bardot, Kim Basinger, Bo Derek and others that I would consider to be in the top ten that are not on your list either. Having said this it is of course all is just a matter of taste really and none can be stated as factual. I only have spoken of the outward appearances. The truth is beauty comes from within and in turn would shape ones opinion of one’s true beauty because if you are ugly inside then outward beauty doesn’t count near as much!

  86. I was very young when my mother passed away. I don’t remember her that well. I asked my father what actress she resembled, he said “Your mother looked like Natalie Wood”, She is my favorite actress for that reason.

  87. Who put this together? How about Raquel,Grace Kelly, Ann-Margaret, Bridget Bardot Jayne Mansfield. I can go on and on as I was living in the 60’s and remember like it was yesterday. Your list is OK but not great.

  88. I almost forgot a couple of more Ursula Andress(Bond girl) and who can forget Jackie Bissett and Jackie Kennedy. C-mon man, these are worth the list for sure and while i am thinking about it Alexis Smith but i could be dating myself as she was in the 40’s and 50’s

  89. Delete This top ten; how do you included Streep a a ‘beauty’. Please see an ophthalmologist- no Bardot, Fonda, Welch ,Ava. Could not be a poorer selection!

  90. The most beautiful, the classiest was Grace Kelly! She became a real Princess and alas passed away tragically in a car accident.
Also equally beautiful was Elizabeth Taylor!

  91. Elizabeth Taylor couldn’t hold a candle to my beloved mother. Mom was a model who was asked to make a screen test in NYC in the 40’s. She had the prettiest and most rare of all colors, green eyes and dark auburn hair. She won the Miss NJ contest and was stunningly beautiful. She had the most beautiful, perfect teeth that made her smile magnetic to men. My grandmother said no. I am happy that she did, or I might not be here to sing her praises.

  92. Sharon Tate was a wholesome beauty. It is so tragic that she was brutally murdered before her career had a chance to reach its peak. She was magnificent in the movie, “The Valley of The Dolls.”

  93. Marylin Monroe once famously said, “It takes a smart brunette to make a living playing a dumb blonde.” She was the best. She has it all. She was beautiful, smart, played the role of a sex symbol better than anyone else and she had a good sense of humor. Loved her!!

  94. The WW2 Bombshell “Betty Grable” and “Jane Mansfield” have to be included in this incredable list of beauties. Their posed pictures had been “eye catchers.”

  95. Meryl Streep is a great actress and she is attractive but she is not beautiful. Where is Linda Darnell?

  96. This was hogwash! Where’s Rita Hayworth, Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne, Ginger Rogers, Lana Turner, Lauren Bacall? You had zero diversity

  97. The list needs to be bigger and decide which era. While Meryl Streep is very talented, she does not compare beautywise to Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren or Raquel Welsh. There are gorgeous women now, Michelle Peiffer, Hallie Berry, Vanessa Williams, etc. I think the list needs to be redone.

  98. I am amazed that your list did not contain one actress of color. Not even Lena Horne, Dorothy Dandridge, just to name two. Shame.

  99. Selena Gomez was so gorgeous 5-10 years ago, but I can’t get out of my mind her silly performance on internet recently. “The children…” “Silly girl.
In my opinion Julia Roberts is far from a classic beauty image at any age.
Alexandra Anna Daddario (born March 16, 1986). “Baywatch”. Nough said.
Angelina Jolie Voight in “Original Sin”. 2001. Oh my God!

  100. Lana Turner was who my dad always talked about being so beautiful, and she was! I know Charlize Theron is a little young for this list but she’s who I’ve always envied and thought as the most beautiful. Except for when she did the movie Monster

  101. “A VERY Classy Lady”, CAPUCINE. who was a very PRIVATE person, never discussed her Family. Born in Southern France, earned a BA in Foreign Languages, then went to Paris, and became a Top High Fashion Model. Cat-Walking for The House of Christian Dior. Best Friends with Audrey Hepburn, another French-speaking Top Dior Model at the time.

  102. Yvonne De Carlo was a stunner. Truly beautiful in her young years. Search for her photos and you’ll see what I mean. *Especially beautiful in “The Ten Commandments.”

  103. Jacklyn Smith, Tuesday Weld, Jane Russell and Susan Dey, And a really sweetheart Donna Douglas, there are way to many to chose the best. We all have different opinions.

  104. Opinions come and go, but Sophia is the closest one to perfection among the many beautiful women of that era, full woman, not “girly” like with false innocence, no me myself and I prefer a real Woman

  105. Hedy Lamarr… beauty and brains.

“She co-invented a frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology, which is a core component of modern wireless communication, including cell phones.

  106. What is wrong with your website??? I can only see one actress instead of the ten you talk about. Is your website set by simpletons?? This is not the first time I’ve encountered this problem!!!
