Adolf Hitler was an aspiring artist

It’s always bold to think about how different the century would have been if Adolf Hitler’s youthful aspirations to become a successful artist had been realized. He tried pursuing a career as an artist, but the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna rejected both of his application submissions. Hitler’s lack of a high school diploma prevented him from applying to the School of Architecture, which the director advised him to do instead.

However, many art critics stated that his talent was mainly for architectural drawings and that the paintings were actually good, but he was less interested in the human figure. But Adolf Hitler’s interest in the artistic field didn’t stop because during the Third Reich, he removed all the famous painters like Picasso or Klee because they were either Bolshevik or Jewish. All their paintings were moved to a condemnatory exhibition.

In fact, the Nazis amassed important and priceless works of art, frequently in the name of “kunstschutz,” or “art protection.” The Hague Convention Respecting the Laws and Customs of War on Land (1899 and 1907) established this procedure, but excessive looting occurred in occupied areas, and the possessions of targeted minorities were taken.

After World War II, a Führermuseum was supposed to be built in Linz, Austria, but part of the artwork was seized and placed in the private collections of Hitler, Göring, and Goebbels. Up to 100,000 pieces of art that were removed from 1.4 million train cars are still unaccounted for.

  3. I don’t think that he committed suicidal. They never had him examined after his death and he had the two bodies burned beyond recognition. I think he went to South America to join a number of Nazis. Some of them were caught and deported and executed.
